Role Overview: The Controller will lead the finance function for the Technology and Operations Global Capability Centre ('GCC'), ensuring compliance with local rules and regulations.
Managing the financial operations of the organization, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of financial reporting. This role will act as a strategic partner to global business leaders while supporting growth of the GCC. Strategic Leadership:Define and execute the GCC finance strategy Act as a finance business partner to global stakeholders Drive cost optimization, productivity improvements, and value creation initiatives Financial Operations & Controllership: Ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including tax and all regulatory filings for the local legal entity Maintain strong internal controls, as well as local ICFR and SOX compliance frameworks.
Identification, assessment and mitigation of financial risks Manage local statutory reporting, internal and external audits, and regulatory compliance From time-to-time, support with the preparation of documents and info to comply with global HQ practices Lead budgeting, forecasting and planning for the GCC Develop and implement up-to-date financial policies and procedures to ensure consistent and effective financial practices across the organization Stakeholder Management:Collaborate with global HQ, regional leaders, auditors, and external partners Serve as escalation point for operational and compliance issues Represent finance function in leadership governance forums People Leadership:Line manage small onsite team of finance ops team (circa 4 individuals) Build and scale high-performing finance teams across multiple towersDevelop leadership pipelines and succession planning Drive performance management, capability building, and employee engagement Primary Internal and External Contacts: Chief Operating Officer - line manager, advising on current activities and concerns for Finance Group Finance departments supporting the financial, regulatory, P&L reporting and expense accounting for the entity Tax Group - covering local tax reporting and transfer pricing agreements Internal Audit - in relation to review of financial results and performance of Finance group activities External Audit - regarding planning reviews and audit work and local accounting issues in relation to Short Form and Long Form audits and any other matters arising. Tax Agent - in relation to filing of various direct and indirect tax returns for the Company Regulators - direct liaison with supervisor, local ownership of Finance regulatory returns and attending to ad-hoc requests/ queries from Regulators Management committee participation as outlined in responsibilities Required Qualifications & Experience: Education & Certifications :CA / CPA / ACCA / MBA (Finance) preferred Experience :12-18+ years of progressive finance leadership experience Minimum 5+ years in GCC / Shared Services / Captive Center environment Hands-on experience with global ERPs (SAP, Oracle, Workday etc.) Technical Skills :Strong knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards and Indian GAAP. International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) is an asset Expertise in controllership and compliance.
