The role is ideal for someone who enjoys engineering but wants a career with strong commercial progression .Key Responsibilitie sTechnical enquiry handlin g — Interpret customer requirements, engineering drawings, specifications, and application details to propose suitable solutions .Quotation preparatio n — Produce accurate, competitive quotations including pricing, lead times, and technical documentation .Product selectio n — Use engineering calculations, catalogues, and software tools to select pumps, valves, HVAC components, rotating equipment, or other mechanical systems depending on the industry .Customer suppor t — Provide technical advice, resolve queries, and maintain strong relationships with clients, distributors, and suppliers .Sales coordinatio n — Work closely with external sales, engineering, and operations teams to ensure proposals are feasible and aligned with business goals .Order processin g — Convert accepted quotations into sales orders and ensure all technical and commercial details are correct .Documentation managemen t — Maintain CRM records, update product data, and ensure compliance with internal quality procedures .Market awarenes s — Monitor competitor offerings, pricing trends, and customer feedback to support continuous improvement .Essential Skills & Qualification sMechanical Engineering degre e (BEng/MEng or equivalent) .Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials, and mechanical system s .Ability to read and interpret technical drawing s and specification s .Confident communicator with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly .Competent with Microsoft Offic e, CRM systems, and engineering selection tools .Analytical mindset with strong numerical accuracy .Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple enquiries simultaneously .
