Property Information
The Temecula KOA at Vail Lake Resort is an outdoor campground destination located in beautiful Southern California among a grove of oak trees. It is a year-round park offering camping close to the Temecula wine country, beautiful Vail Lake, and has miles of mountain bike, horse, and hiking trails. We have over 400 RV sites and 26 units of accommodation on the property with a plan continued renovation.
Our staff strives to create a great camping experience for our guests by offering excellent customer service, outstanding amenities, and the opportunity to create memories to last a lifetime!
Working hours:
Full-time - 40/week
Hourly $25 & up depending on experience
Schedule must include minimum one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday)
Daily hours can be between 7am - 11pm and need to fit the department needs
Schedule should over-lap with GM by at least 1 day (minimum)
Work 1-3 days overseeing activities and events per week
2-4 planning/admin days per week
Administrative tasks:
Attend weekly Department Head meetings
Meet with GM individually once per week
Help disseminate information on project plans, policy changes and other information to individual teams
Daily/weekly scheduling for the department
Approval of department time sheets
Help facilitate all trainings for department staff
Coordinate with KEI senior leadership on yearly planning when necessary
Plan and prepare breakfast, lunch & dinner menus/recipes depending on the season in a café style food service kitchen
Create schedule of weekly food & beverage specials/menus
Have knowledge of and ensure all staff follow proper preparation, cooking and serving of food and beverage menu items
Follow all state health code rules and regulations for bar and café
o This includes but is not limited to: food prep areas, bar back areas, appliances, dishwashing, etc.
All supply ordering for food service and bar
Create and maintain partnerships with 3rd party vendors
Keep accurate and up to date inventory
Propose, create and execute other large and small scale events with an eye towards increasing occupancy in the campground
Leadership Responsibilities:
Recruitment and hiring of staff for department
Ensure all employees have been through TIPS and/or Food Handler's training
Orientation and training of new hires and assist with completion of HR tasks
Assist with or conduct employee disciplinary actions when needed
Conduct bi-annual or quarterly department employee reviews
Available cover shifts for food service and bar departments as necessary
Help resolve and coordinate customer service recovery
Communicate directives and assign tasks to staff with professionalism
Interact with guests and staff in a professional and courteous manner
Adhere to company purchasing policy
Requirements:
Skills Required
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other internet applications
Tourism/Customer Service/Hospitality Experience - or like leadership experience in department
Ability to lift 50 lbs
Sit/Stand for long periods of time
Hold a valid Driver's license
Ability to create/follow basic recipes
Preferred Skills
Bilingual is valued
Organized
Ability to communicate well with staff for directives and tasks
