Job DescriptionJob DescriptionIoka Valley Farm is looking for a reliable and mature person to join our farm team. We are a diversified farm offering seasonal activities for customers to come enjoy as well as traditional farm tasks including firewood, repairing & working in sugarbush, sheering Christmas trees, lawn care, harvesting pumpkins, weed wacking, and assisting with seasonal cleanings and set up for activities. We are a family operation and you will be working with family and coworkers of all ages.
Every season is different and employees have the opportunity to cross-train. Ioka Valley Farm raises beef cattle, hay and grain corn, pumpkins, Christmas trees, and has a large maple operation, and fall pumpkin patch.
Schedule: Day shift (8:30 - 5:00)
Job Type: Part-time, with potential for full-time
Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
License/Certification: Driver's License
May/June duties typically include:
- removing spouts from maple trees, repairing tubing & pipeline in sugarbush
- lawn care, mowing, weedwacking, weeding flower beds
- cutting, splitting, stacking firewood
- cleaning sugarhouse, barn, Calfa, kitchen, barnyardCompany DescriptionOur seasons include Spring – Maple production & Calf-A open for pancakes, Summer – Uncle Don’s Barnyard (animal petting & family play area), Fall – Pumpkin Patch with expanded entertainment, Winter – Christmas Trees. Ioka Valley Farm also grows 100 acres of field corn, to feed their farm animals, the remainder sold to a feed company, 140 acres of hay are harvested each summer as either dry hay or balege for sale.
