As our business continues to evolve – including major investment in infrastructure, sustainability, and electric vehicle technology – we are looking for an experienced and proactive Facilities Manager to support our operational sites across the network. This is an exciting opportunity for a facilities professional with strong technical knowledge and operational experience to play a key role in maintaining safe, compliant, and high-performing environments across a complex multi‑site operation. Facilities Manager Location: London Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 DOE + Benefits Department: Engineering The Role Reporting into the senior Engineering leadership team, the Facilities Manager will oversee the day-to-day management, maintenance, and compliance of company facilities, engineering infrastructure, and operational assets across multiple sites. The role will lead on facilities management, contractor control, planned preventative maintenance, compliance activity, and support the continued development of EV charging infrastructure across the business. Key Responsibilities Facilities & Building Management Manage the day-to-day operation and maintenance of company facilities and operational sites Ensure buildings, plant, and equipment remain safe, compliant, and fully operational Oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and reactive maintenance activities Manage building services including HVAC, lighting, plumbing, electrical infrastructure, fire systems, and security systems Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments Ensure compliance with health & safety, fire safety, environmental, and statutory requirements Engineering & Infrastructure Oversee engineering assets and critical infrastructure across operational sites Coordinate contractors, suppliers, and specialist service providers Support infrastructure upgrades, refurbishments, and improvement projects Monitor asset lifecycle performance and support long-term planning Maintain accurate maintenance records, certifications, and engineering documentation EV Charging Infrastructure Manage the operation and maintenance of EV charging infrastructure assets Coordinate installation, servicing, and fault response activities Monitor charger uptime, reliability, and operational performance Liaise with utility providers, network operators, and specialist contractors Support sustainability and energy management initiatives linked to EV operations Financial & Operational Management Prepare and manage facilities and maintenance budgets Monitor contractor performance and control expenditure Manage supplier contracts and service level agreements Produce operational and compliance reports for senior management Support business continuity and emergency response planning About You We are looking for a professional, organised, and solutions-focused individual who can confidently manage facilities and infrastructure within a fast-paced operational environment. You Will Ideally Have Previous experience within a Facilities Manager or Infrastructure Management role Strong knowledge of building maintenance, compliance, and engineering services Experience managing contractors, suppliers, and maintenance programmes Knowledge of health & safety and statutory compliance requirements Excellent organisational and communication skills The ability to manage multiple priorities across several locations Experience within transport, logistics, engineering, industrial, or operational environments would be advantageous An understanding of EV charging infrastructure or sustainable technologies would be beneficial What We Offer Competitive salary Free London Bus travel Company pension Opportunity to work within one of London’s largest and most innovative transport operators Career development and progression opportunities Involvement in major infrastructure and sustainability projects Diversity & Inclusion Go-Ahead London is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace.
