The remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent's professional experience and will be in line with market standards.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled IP professional to manage and support intellectual property activities in the pharmaceutical domain. The role involves patent searches, technical analysis, drafting support, and contributing to IP strategy to strengthen the organization's product pipeline and competitive position.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct patentability, novelty, invalidity, and freedom-to-operate (FTO) searchesPerform in-depth analysis of patent documents, scientific literature, and technical data (APIs, formulations, processes)Support drafting and review of patent applications, including specifications, claims, and office action responsesLead/assist in IP landscaping and competitor intelligence studiesProvide IP risk assessment and strategic inputs to R&D and business teamsIdentify new ideas, innovation opportunities, and product development strategies based on IP insights and patent landscape analysisManage and maintain IP databases, dockets, and documentation systemsTrack patent filings, legal status, and deadlines across global jurisdictionsLiaise with external patent attorneys/agents for filings and prosecutionSupport due diligence, licensing, and partnership activities
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Pharmacy (M.Pharm) (mandatory)
Experience:
2 to 6 years of relevant experience in Intellectual Property within the reputed pharmaceutical companies
Required Skills:
Strong expertise in patent search and analysisSound understanding of pharmaceutical concepts (API, formulations, generics)Hands-on experience with patent databases (Orbit, Derwent, Google Patents, etc.)Ability to interpret patent claims and legal statusStrong analytical, research, and documentation skillsEffective communication and cross-functional collaborationPreferred dosage form: Solid oral, Oncology, Liquids and Injectable
Preferred Skills:
Experience in patent drafting and prosecutionKnowledge of global patent systems (USPTO, EPO, WIPO)Exposure to regulatory frameworks (ANDA, Paragraph IV, DMF filings)Patent Agent qualification (preferred)
