Job Description
Harvey Water is an Irrigation Cooperative based in the South West of Western Australia, delivering non-potable water to our Members and Customers through an extensive piped distribution network and open channel system. We have a strong focus on initiatives to supply sustainable water solutions, including water treatment and other alternative sources of water.
We are looking for a highly self-motivated Engineer who thrives on challenges and is eager to drive the continuous improvement of our water supply systems and enhance operational efficiency. We encourage applications from individuals across diverse engineering disciplines, including but not limited to Mechanical, Civil, and Environmental Engineering.
The Role
This is a diverse position offering exposure to a wide range of engineering, operational and project activities, including:
Asset Management and Operations
Monitor, protect and optimise the performance of a diverse asset base, such as piped water distribution network (HDPE, steel, etc.), pumps, bores and water treatment facilities.
Managing the preventative maintenance program to ensure the reliability and efficiency of water delivery.
Project Delivery & Management
Managing projects from concept development through to commissioning and completion.
Preparing scopes, budgets and technical specifications.
Coordinating contractors, consultants and stakeholders.
Ensuring quality, safety and compliance requirements are met.
Water Quality and Compliance
Monitoring and managing water quality.
Ensuring compliance with relevant standards, regulations and performance criteria.
Technical Support and Continuous Improvement
Investigating operational issues and implementing practical solutions.
Providing engineering, technical and software support.
Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reliability and sustainability.
Skills and Attributes
The successful applicant will possess:
A recognised engineering degree or proven experience in a similar role.
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small team.
Strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build productive working relationships.
The ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
A high level of personal accountability and time management.
Sound knowledge of engineering standards, workplace health and safety requirements, environmental obligations and relevant regulatory frameworks.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and general engineering software systems.
Experience within the water industry and familiarity with hydraulic programs and asset management systems, including ArcGIS, would be advantageous.
