Position Summary
This position is responsible for executing a daily plan for movement of all freight within an assigned area.
Essential Functions
Provide frontline customer service for existing accounts Communicate effectively with customers, drivers, dispatchers, and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operations Partner with terminal manager to plan and carry out shipping operations Monitor daily delivery schedule for drivers Organize and sort incoming mail and paperwork Verify driver paperwork for each load Image/Scan documents into the dispatch system Data entry of driver detention pay, calculate hourly pay, layovers, breakdowns Receive orders from customers and create loads in dispatch system Answer all incoming phone calls promptly and courteously Monitor e-mail for incoming orders, communication between team members Admin support including payroll and billing On-call duties as needed
High school diploma or equivalent, with 2 years of customer facing dispatching experience; Associate or Bachelor Degree in business, supply chain, logistics, preferred. Excellent presentation skills. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills Excellent conflict resolution and skills
