Job Description
The Director of Market & Growth is responsible for driving the expansion of ISCA Academy’s presence across Southeast Asia and China. This role serves as the Academy’s primary business development and market expansion lead, with a focus on entering new overseas markets, developing go-to-market strategies, and converting opportunities into sustainable revenue streams. The Director will build and manage strategic relationships, develop market entry plans, and establish partnerships with corporates, professional bodies and academic institutions in the region, ensuring the Academy's programmes and offerings are well-positioned to meet local demand.
Key Responsibilities:Market development & strategy Develop market entry and growth strategies for priority markets Monitor industry and competitor trends in each market to identify positioning opportunities for the Academy. Identify high-potential sectors, customer segments and growth opportunities aligned with ISCA Academy’s offerings Represent the Academy at regional conferences, industry forums and networking events to build brand visibility and generate leads. Business development & revenue growth Own and deliver the Academy's international revenue targets across assigned markets in Southeast and East Asia.
Drive end-to-end business development efforts, from lead generation to deal structuring and closure in new markets Build a strong pipeline of corporate clients, training partners, and institutional collaborations Partnership & stakeholder development Identify, approach, and cultivate strategic partnerships with corporates, professional bodies, academic institutions, and training providers across target markets. Negotiate and formalise partnership and distribution agreements to extend the Academy's reach and commercial footprint. Maintain strong ongoing relationships with key clients and partners to drive retention and upsell opportunities.
Market Intelligence & Product Feedback Gather market insights and customer feedback to inform product localisation and development and pricing strategy Work closely with the contents teams to ensure offerings are relevant, competitive and aligned with local market needs Identify gaps and opportunities for new programmes or offerings Team & operations As the international business scales, recruit, develop and manage in-market business development staff or agents across priority countries. Ensure all international sales activities comply with ISCA's governance, risk, and compliance standards. Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, International Relations or a related fieldAt least 12 years in sales, business development, or commercial roles with a strong track record of hitting revenue targets Demonstrated experience managing a regional portfolio across Southeast or East Asia, ideally Indonesia, Malaysia, China, and/or Vietnam Experience in the learning, training, or professional development industry (academy or professional body context) is a plus Experience building and managing partnerships with corporates, government agencies and/or academic institutions Ability to communicate effectively in Mandarin due to business needs with China-based stakeholdersStrong commercial acumen with the ability to develop go-to-market strategies and business cases Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with senior clients and partners across diverse cultural environments.
Self-directed and entrepreneurial, comfortable operating in a lean team with high autonomy Results-driven, with a strong ownership mindset and accountability for delivering business outcomes. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at senior levels. Willingness to travel frequently across the region
