Director, Data Platform & Governance (APAC)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Data Platform Leader to drive the strategy, governance, and evolution of enterprise-scale data platforms across a regional/global landscape. This role sits at the intersection of business, IT, and data, with a strong focus on enabling scalable, secure, and high-performing data ecosystems.

Key ResponsibilitiesOwn and operate enterprise-scale data platforms (cloud/hybrid), ensuring performance, scalability, and reliabilityDefine and implement robust data governance frameworks (cataloging, lineage, data quality, access management)Lead the full data product lifecycle - from creation to evolution and retirement - aligned with global standardsCollaborate closely with IT, business stakeholders, and global data offices to drive alignment and adoptionManage and develop a high-performing technical teamDrive continuous improvement, cost optimization, and platform efficiency

Requirements Must-Have Experience8+ years in data management, data engineering, or data platform leadership rolesAt least 3 years in a regional or global capacityProven track record managing enterprise-scale data platformsStrong experience in data governance frameworks and toolsSolid stakeholder management across IT, business, and global teamsExperience leading and developing technical teams

Technical SkillsDatabricks: Advanced proficiency in data engineering, orchestration, and analyticsAzure Data Ecosystem: Azure Data Factory, Synapse, ADLS, and related servicesData Modeling: Dimensional, lakehouse, medallion architectures, schema management, data contractsData Governance Tools: Purview, Data Hub, metadata management, lineage trackingSecurity & Compliance: PII handling, RBAC, AD groups, RLS, GDPR and local regulationsCost Management: Ability to analyze and optimize platform costs
