Role OverviewWe are looking for an experienced Mechanical Development Engineer with strong expertise in Transformer Mechanical Design and Product Development. The candidate will be responsible for developing and improving mechanical systems, structures, and components related to transformer manufacturing while supporting engineering innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of transformer mechanical design, manufacturing processes, structural analysis, and cross-functional engineering coordination.

Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and improve mechanical designs and engineering solutions for transformersWork on product enhancement, optimization, and standardization activitiesAnalyze mechanical and structural design issues and provide effective solutionsCoordinate with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Project teams for development activitiesReview mechanical drawings, specifications, and technical documentationSupport new product development, prototype validation, and engineering changesEnsure mechanical designs meet customer specifications and engineering standardsDrive cost optimization and continuous improvement initiativesParticipate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementationCoordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders for development-related activitiesSupport manufacturing teams during execution and troubleshooting activitiesMaintain engineering documentation, BOMs, and development records

Required Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of Transformer Mechanical DesignUnderstanding of transformer tanks, structures, cooling systems, and mechanical componentsKnowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExperience in design optimization and engineering improvementsGood understanding of engineering drawings and GD&TExposure to CAD software such as AutoCAD, Creo, SolidWorks, or similar toolsStrong coordination and stakeholder management skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively

Preferred QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Mechanical EngineeringMinimum 8 Years of relevant experience in Transformer Mechanical Design / DevelopmentExperience in Power Transformer industry preferredExposure to international standards and manufacturing-driven engineering environment will be an added advantage
