About the Role:
As a Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing and optimizing mechanical components and systems through advanced design and analysis techniques. Your primary focus will be to create innovative, efficient, and reliable designs that meet project specifications and industry standards. You will leverage finite element analysis and structural analytical methods to predict performance and ensure the integrity of designs under various conditions.
Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will translate conceptual ideas into detailed models and drawings using CAD software. Ultimately, your work will contribute to the successful realization of products that are both manufacturable and durable, supporting the company’s commitment to engineering excellence.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- Proven experience with finite element analysis and structural analytical methods.
- Proficiency in CAD software, specifically SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and solid modeling techniques.
- Ability to interpret and apply engineering standards and codes relevant to mechanical design.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience with advanced simulation tools beyond basic FEA, such as nonlinear or dynamic analysis.
- Familiarity with product lifecycle management (PLM) software and version control systems.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials selection to enhance design for manufacturability.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification.
Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed mechanical design and solid modeling using SolidWorks and AutoCAD to develop components and assemblies.
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and stress analysis to evaluate structural integrity and optimize designs for performance and safety.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and project teams to ensure designs meet functional requirements and production feasibility.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, analysis reports, and revision histories.
- Review and validate design outputs to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Skills:
The required skills such as finite element analysis and structural analytical techniques are essential for evaluating and improving the mechanical performance of designs on a daily basis. Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD enables the creation of precise 3D models and detailed engineering drawings that serve as the foundation for product development. Mechanical design and solid modeling skills are applied to conceptualize and iterate designs efficiently, ensuring they meet functional and safety requirements.
Stress analytical capabilities allow for the identification of potential failure points and the optimization of materials and geometry to enhance durability. Preferred skills like advanced simulation and knowledge of manufacturing processes further empower the engineer to deliver innovative, cost-effective, and manufacturable solutions.
