Job Description
Role Summary:The Design Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing all design-related activities across architectural, structural, MEP, and allied disciplines. The role ensures timely delivery of drawings, resolution of design conflicts, compliance with project requirements, and seamless coordination between consultants, execution teams, and management for successful project execution.
Key ResponsibilitiesA. Design Coordination Coordinate with architectural, structural, MEP, landscape, and other consultants Ensure timely submission, review, and approval of drawings Monitor issuance of GFC (Good for Construction) drawings as per project schedule Identify and resolve design clashes, discrepancies, and technical issues before site execution Ensure alignment between design intent and site execution requirements
B. Drawing Review & Technical Evaluation Review drawings for constructability and coordination across disciplines Support value engineering and optimization of design solutions Verify area statements, layouts, and design compliance Assist site teams with technical clarifications and drawing interpretation
C. Planning & Project Coordination Coordinate design deliverables with project timelines and construction schedules Track pending approvals, revisions, and consultant deliverables Support planning teams in integrating design milestones into project schedules
D. Tendering & BOQ Coordination Support preparation and review of tender drawings and BOQs Coordinate with procurement and QS teams for technical scope clarity Participate in technical discussions and consultant/vendor coordination meetings
E. Documentation & Compliance Maintain design records, revisions, approvals, and document control systems Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, project standards, and company procedures Support preparation of as-built drawings and project handover documentation
F. Stakeholder Management Coordinate with consultants, contractors, PMC, vendors, and internal departments Conduct coordination meetings and prepare MOMs (Minutes of Meeting) Ensure timely communication and follow-up on design-related actions
Software & Tools AutoCAD (mandatory) Revit / BIM coordination knowledge preferred MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) MS Project / Primavera (preferred)
QualificationB.E. / B.Tech in Civil Engineering / B. Architecture
Experience 5-10 years of relevant experience in residential/commercial projects Experience with developers, contractors, or PMCs preferred
