Overview

NAIT is seeking a continuous instructor to lead the Automotive Service Technician Program, guiding students in diagnosing problems, repairing engines, and maintaining vehicles in industry settings.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in classroom, laboratory, and industry settings.
• Participate in curriculum development, program reviews, and course reviews.
• Facilitate learning using instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials.
• Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment.
• Create assessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records.
• Provide early and ongoing coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success.
• Respond to student issues.
• Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications, and program promotions.
• Maintain and submit program/student records accurately and promptly.
• Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners.
• Actively participate in the strategies of NAIT 2021+, NAIT’s Strategic Plan, and NAIT’s Academic Plan.
• Use regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement.
• Improve the quality of instruction through professional development activities.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Completion of Automotive Service Technician Alberta Journeyperson certificate or provincial equivalent, including Inter-Provincial Red Seal.
• Minimum 8 years recent industry experience after completion of Journeyperson ticket.
• Teaching experience an asset.

Remuneration

Salary will commensurate with education and experience. Compensation range: $69,189.78 - $120,361.23, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
