Experience Level: Mid-Senior (3-10+ years CNC machining) Why This Role Exists This role exists to support growing aerospace production demand across precision turning operations. At Barnes Aerospace, this position plays a key role in machining forged aerospace components to tight tolerances for long-term commercial and defense programs. The Work You'll Be Doing In this role, you will: Set up and operate CNC turning centers in a production environment Run multiple machines within a machining cell when feasible Machine aerospace forgings and components to tight tolerances ( .001") Read and interpret blueprints, tool setup sheets, and operation instructions Perform first-piece and in-process inspection using precision tools Load and unload parts manually or using hoists Adjust offsets, replace tooling, and troubleshoot machining issues Maintain quality and safety standards throughout production Machines, Controls & Software Machines: Mazak, Okuma, Doosan, Mori Seiki turning centers Controls: Fanuc Inspection Tools: Micrometers, dial indicators, gauges, profilometers Materials You'll Work With Inconel Titanium Stainless Steel Aluminum What We're Looking ForRequired: 3+ years CNC turning experience Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T Experience with setups, offsets, and tool changes Comfortable holding tight tolerances Strong problem-solving and attention to detail Preferred: Aerospace machining experience Multi-machine / cell experience Fanuc control familiarity Why Machinists Like Working Here Stable aerospace programs Modern CNC equipment Clean, organized shop 15% shift differential Opportunity to grow skills across machines Pay, Benefits & Schedule Pay Range: $28 - $38/hr (DOE)
