We are seeking an experienced Claims Manager / Driver Trainer to manage insurance claims and actively coach drivers to reduce accidents, improve safety performance, and protect the company from preventable losses.
This role is ideal for someone who is proactive, organized, and comfortable holding drivers accountable while also helping them improve through coaching and training.
About the Role
As the Claims Manager / Driver Trainer, you will oversee auto liability, cargo, and physical damage claims while delivering driver coaching programs that enhance safety and reduce incidents.
Key Responsibilities
- Claims Management
- Manage all auto liability, cargo, and physical damage claims from reporting to resolution.
- Communicate with insurance carriers, adjusters, and internal teams.
- Maintain accurate claim documentation, reports, and timelines.
- Track claim trends and assist with insurance renewals.
- Driver Coaching & Training
- Review accidents, safety events, and telematics data.
- Conduct one‑on‑one driver coaching and remedial training.
- Document training, follow‑ups, and performance improvements.
- Support new driver onboarding and safety training.
- Safety & Compliance
- Monitor driver behavior using telematics and camera systems.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and DOT regulations.
- Identify at‑risk drivers early and escalates concerns when necessary.
- Assist during audits, inspections, and safety reviews.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in claims, safety, driver training, or risk management within trucking or transportation.
- Strong understanding of DOT/FMCSA regulations.
- Excellent organization, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle difficult conversations professionally.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, accountability‑driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with telematics or camera‑based safety systems (Samsara, Lytx, Motive, etc.).
- Previous driver training or coaching experience.
