Chief of Staff & Strategic Initiatives
Become a Chief of Staff & Strategic Initiatives at Southern California Edison (SCE). In this role you will assist the senior leadership team in developing long‑term strategies, making goals measurable, achievable, and aligned across the organization. You will match departmental priorities to company goals, clear obstacles to execution, and serve as a liaison between executive leadership and employees to ensure transparency and simplicity around strategic objectives.
You will provide research, prepare briefs, and deliver insights that guide executive decisions.
Responsibilities
- Drive the delivery of analytical support to the enterprise, optimizing the collection, analysis, and reporting of data to enable successful completion of key business operations projects.
- Act as a key consultant to stakeholders, presenting complex analytical findings and making recommendations on their impact on business operations.
- Create and monitor performance dashboards to track and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in order to optimize process improvement activities and support portfolio operations in developing performance metrics.
- Evaluate business operations processes and recommend actions to increase efficiency and productivity while reducing costs.
- Perform analyses and evaluate business operational risk requirements, identify suitable risk mitigations, and communicate them to leadership.
- Meet with stakeholders to identify project requirements, recommend applicable tools, and provide periodic updates throughout project completion.
- Optimize the development of business plan scenarios to evaluate different priorities and options for achieving the enterprise's objectives.
- Work with business planning and performance management teams to develop option sets to meet business planning scenarios considering financial, operational, and regulatory risks and constraints.
- Train newly hired analysts on various aspects of the job through mentorship.
- Validate established processes to ensure alignment with relevant rules, principles, laws, and industry standards, safeguarding assets, minimizing errors, and mitigating risk.
- Ensure the protection of all physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets and properly manage private customer data and other highly sensitive information with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ten or more years of experience in business operations analysis.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in business, technical, communications, or a related discipline.
- Skilled at translating complex information into compelling, easy‑to‑understand narratives and high‑level summaries for varied audiences.
- Experience applying a structured problem‑solving approach to improve company performance or deliver strategic value.
- Project management certification.
Additional Information
- This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Employees are required to work and reside in the state of California unless otherwise noted. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage; the work mode can change based on business needs.
