Job Description
A Pasta Bar is a modern Italian restaurant rooted in quality, technique and atmosphere. For over 8 years, we have been established in New York City, in the heart of SoHo, building a strong identity based on consistency, discipline, and high standards.
We are now expanding to Miami and are building a disciplined, professional kitchen team with strong standards and high execution.
We are looking for a skilled Chef de Partie with solid kitchen experience, strong organization, and the ability to maintain high standards in a fast-paced, professional environment.
Position Summary
The Chef de Partie is responsible for the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes in accordance with company recipes and quality standards.
This role requires strong technical skill, consistency under pressure, and confidence working in an open kitchen environment with direct guest interaction. A solid knowledge of the kitchen is essential to support and maintain a high level of execution on the line, ensuring that all work performed at the station is flawless and aligned with the standards set by the chef. The Chef de Partie is also expected to work closely with the Sous Chef to help drive the team, leading by example and pushing everyone to perform at their highest level.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Execute all dishes to specification and plating standards
- Maintain mise en place and station organization at all times
- Ensure proper labeling, rotation, and storage (FIFO compliance)
- Monitor yields and minimize waste
- Maintain sanitation standards in compliance with Florida Department of Health regulations
- Work efficiently during high-volume service
- Collaborate with all stations to ensure smooth service flow
- Maintain full control and responsibility over own station, ensuring consistency and precision at all times
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a high-volume or fine-casual restaurant
- Strong understanding of kitchen operations and high-level line execution
- Experience working with pasta as well as a variety of main courses, including grilled dishes
- Ability to work clean, organized, and efficient under pressure while maintaining high standards
- Solid knowledge of food cost, portion control, and waste management
- Professional communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Comfortable working in an open kitchen environment with direct guest interaction
- Ability to take ownership of a station and ensure consistency, precision, and excellence at all times
