Position Title: Buyer Recruitment Executive Market Group: Northstar Travel Group, EMEA and USA Reports To: Event Audience & Hosted Recruitment Director Works with: Recruitment team, Hosted Buyer Operations, Events, Marketing, Sales and Editorial Office Location: London / Hybrid About Northstar Northstar Travel Group is the leading business-to-business media company providing information and marketing solutions for the global travel industry. The company owns 14 media brands connecting 1.3M industry professionals through a comprehensive portfolio of digital, social, print and more than 100 events in 13 countries. Purpose The role is responsible for recruitment and engagement of senior-level buyers for Northstar Travel Group across its events / products: Recruitment of buyers and hosted buyers to events, to target.
Underpin buyer relationship management by being able to effectively communicate the value of Northstar’s products – both editorial and events – to the audience. For this role 75-100% of your time is spent on delegate recruitment calls. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Calling data provided to build buyer audiences for tradeshows and events.
Clear understanding of buyer needs and of the marketplace. Application vetting Update and maintain current database by sourcing new leads, feeding back lead information changes and building data where needed. Calling data for table sales and award entries Build an online community via social media, sourcing relevant contacts to add to the Northstar database.
Attend industry events to build a buyer network. Work to achieve personal KPI’s and targets. Liaise with sales and marketing departments to feedback industry news Perform other related duties as directed and/or required.
Assist hosted buyer and event teams in driving appointment numbers. KNOWLEDGE, BEHAVIORS AND SKILLS Grasp the markets we service quickly: corporate travel, meetings and travel technology. Fluent English communication, both verbal and written Exceptional telephone skills and strong communication skills (oral and written).
A high degree of professionalism. Attention to detail in all areas. Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to manage multi-projects simultaneously - strong organizational, coordination, and time management skills. Ability to work as part of a team. Service awareness – Good telephone manner and customer service skill Computer experience with proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Ability to quickly grasp the workings of CRM, accounting, and business delivery software applications.
Understanding of USP’s and competitor events Understand market trends and developments. RELATED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: Aptitude and interest in delegate sales is a must. Prior experience with delegate sales and administrative functions is strongly preferred.
