The Working Party — Shopify Platinum Partner
Job Description
Join Our Team as an eCommerce Business Analyst at The Working Party
Are you a detail-oriented Business Analyst with a passion for eCommerce, digital delivery, and solving complex business problems? The Working Party is looking for an eCommerce Business Analyst to help translate client needs into clear, actionable requirements that support confident delivery across strategy, design, development, testing, and launch.
This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in discovery, enjoys working with multidisciplinary teams, and knows how to turn ambiguity into structure.
About Us
The Working Party is Australia and New Zealand's eCommerce partner for strategic growth, precision engineering and intelligent design. As Shopify Platinum and Elite Klaviyo Partners, we work with leading retailers including JB Hi-Fi, KOOKAÏ and Farmers Pick — guiding them through complex platform builds, world-class UX/UI design and performance optimisation. We combine evidence-led strategy with technical excellence to drive long-term, measurable growth.
Our team is made up entirely of ANZ-based senior strategists, designers, developers and delivery managers who are deeply invested in the craft of eCommerce. We work collaboratively, partner closely with clients and take genuine ownership of outcomes.
If you're looking to work on high-caliber projects alongside specialists who are committed to quality and continuous improvement, you'll find your place here.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an eCommerce Business Analyst to join our Delivery team and play a critical role in shaping how client requirements are discovered, documented, validated and delivered.
At The Working Party, discovery is a craft. We do not just gather requirements, we interrogate them. This role exists to help ensure that what gets built solves the right problem, fits within commercial reality, and gives our delivery teams the clarity they need to execute with confidence.
You will work closely with eCommerce Strategists, Delivery Managers, UX/UI Designers, Developers and Tech Leads to bridge the gap between client business needs and delivery-ready requirements. From discovery and scoping through to design, build, UAT, launch and handover, you will help reduce ambiguity, protect scope and improve the quality of project outcomes.
In This Role, You Will Be Responsible For
- Leading functional discovery sessions to understand client needs, workflows, business rules, integrations and constraints.
- Translating business needs into clear functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria and process documentation.
- Working with strategists, designers, developers and delivery managers to ensure requirements are understood and delivery-ready.
- Supporting scoping, estimation and change control by identifying assumptions, dependencies, risks and scope impacts.
- Maintaining accurate functional documentation throughout discovery, design, build, testing and handover.
- Supporting QA, UAT, warranty and handover activities to ensure delivered work matches agreed requirements.
- Helping improve The Working Party’s BA templates, documentation standards and ways of working.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Functional Consultant or Digital Business Analyst, ideally in eCommerce, digital or client services.
- Strong experience gathering, analysing and documenting business and functional requirements.
- Confidence facilitating workshops, stakeholder interviews and requirements sessions.
- Excellent documentation skills, including user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows and functional specifications.
- Strong understanding of digital delivery across discovery, scoping, design, build, testing and launch.
- The ability to identify ambiguity, edge cases, dependencies and scope risks early.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate between clients, strategists, designers and developers.
- A structured, detail-oriented and commercially aware approach to problem solving.
- Familiarity with eCommerce platforms, integrations, Shopify or Shopify Plus highly regarded.
What We Offer
- Flexible working options, including in-person, hybrid, and remote depending on location
- The opportunity to work with respected leaders in the Australian and New Zealand eCommerce space
- Exposure to exciting brands and complex digital commerce projects
- A collaborative, supportive team environment with opportunities for professional growth
