INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER POSITION SUMMARYThe Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing the organization’s Microsoft Azure cloud environment. This role will be part of a growing internal cloud infrastructure team and will collaborate closely with existing IT and infrastructure staff to support scalable, secure, and reliable cloud operations.INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIESDesign, deploy, and maintain Azure infrastructure including Windows Server virtual machines, App Services, Azure SQL Databases, Storage Accounts, Recovery Services Vaults, and supporting servicesConfigure and maintain Azure networking including virtual networks, subnets, network security groups, VNet peerings, route tables, private endpoints, private and public DNS zones, point-to-site and site-to-site VPNs, Azure Firewall, Web Application Firewall, and Azure Front DoorImplement and maintain monitoring, logging, backup, and disaster recovery solutions using native Azure services or third-party toolsTroubleshoot, resolve, and identify root causes of complex Azure issues across compute, networking, identity, and applicationsEstablish and enforce Azure best practices and standards as the environment growsINFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Equivalent professional experience may be considered)5+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft AzureDemonstrated experience building, operating, and maintaining Azure environmentsDeep working knowledge of Azure IaaS and PaaS offeringsProficiency with Azure networking concepts including segmentation, hybrid connectivity patterns, and traffic flowSolid understanding of Azure RBAC, including control plane versus data plane permissionsProficiency with PowerShell and Azure CLI for automation and administrationStrong technical writing skills, with the ability to produce clear runbooks and diagramsAbility to translate business requirements into architecture decisions
INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSIndustry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Network+, or equivalentExperience supporting cloud or hybrid networking environmentsExperience in enterprise or public-sector IT environmentsINFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER SCHEDULEFull-TimePrimarily office or remote workOn-call or after-hours support may be required for critical incidents or maintenance
