automotive service technician

Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Automotive Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, with experience working in dealership settings or with heavy and industrial equipment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a variety of vehicles and machinery, utilizing advanced mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills to ensure optimal vehicle performance and safety.

Duties

• Diagnose and repair a wide range of automotive issues, including engine, transmission, brake, and electrical systems
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and inspections
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, schematics, and diagnostic equipment to identify problems accurately
• Repair or replace components on farm machinery, heavy equipment (excavators, cranes, forklifts), and industrial machinery
• Operate heavy equipment safely when required for repairs or testing
• Conduct welding and fabrication tasks as needed for repairs or custom modifications
• Maintain detailed service records and communicate effectively with customers regarding repair needs and procedures
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment at all times

Requirements

• Proven experience as an automotive technician or mechanic, preferably with dealership experience
• Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and industrial machinery such as Caterpillar products
• Strong mechanical knowledge across automotive systems, HVAC, welding, electrical systems, and schematics reading
• Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic scanners, and maintenance equipment
• Experience working with farm machinery or industrial equipment is a plus
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients
• Valid driver?s license with a clean driving record is preferred
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Details

Pay: $23.10-$45.95 per hour
